Used Car Rental Company Sales

How do you feel about the Government bringing in 1 million workers from other countries every year?

Our economy is awful right now. The government is still bringing 1 million+ workers here from other countries every year. A few days ago I was at work and a couple came in, with British accents, wanting to buy a new car. Very nice people. Of course, being in sales, I had to find out if they would be able to buy a car, so I got to talking to them…his company moved him here from England, and he brought her too. He does computer stuff for the government. His company, which is used by the US government paid for their move, their new place, a rental car for a month and quite a bit of other stuff. So I was thinking he must have a really high position and make tons of money…nope, he had only been with the company for 6 months.
WHY…couldn’t someone that already lives here, in the US have gotten that job? It seems it would have been financially better for the company, and for our economy.
How do you feel about this? What can be done about it?

I think it is terrible. It is pretty sad that Americans don’t get the jobs. Obviously someone got a kickback or a bribe to sign the contract.

I especially hate the H1B programs which drive down the salaries of professionals. I think it should be stopped and all the H1Bs sent home which would free up thousands of jobs for our college educated and make the job market more favorable to American born. We should only hire American for government positions unless it is someone who is working as an interpreter.

Let’s face it, other countries don’t allow their governments to put foreigners in sensitive positions.
