I hit a curb, will my insurance pay for the car?
I have a ’99 Eclipse fully tuned out. I hit a curb by accident today and my front bumper is basicially trashed. It broke completely in half in one place and there are cracks and scratches throughout it. My fiberglass fender also cracked since the bumper pushed on it. The cost of the bumper, fender, painting and installation will cost me nearly $1.5-2 grand. I obviously don’t have that kind of spare money laying around. I was wondering if my full coverage auto insurance (all-state) will cover the aftermarket parts even though they were never mentioned on my insurance since I was never asked and I figured I didn’t have to. I can’t really drive with the bumper as it is since im scared another tiny hit will rip it off and I dont have money to pay for it..
$250 deductible.
They should cover the cost based on original equipment. You will likely be asked to pay the difference between that and the aftermarket parts (plus deductible, of course). It will be classed as a single-vehicle at-fault accident, if you have claims-free it is gone, unless you have a lengthy clear record and a first-accident forgiveness clause.
